What is overhead service lines?
Your overhead service line is the cable running from Ausgrid's network to your point of attachment - whether that's a pole, a bracket on your house or an eave. Because the whole run sits between the network and your property, it's Level 2 ASP territory. We renew, repair, re-sag and install overhead service lines across the Central Coast every week.
When you need it
- The service line is sagging into a driveway, tree or over a walkway.
- A tree has fallen on the line or a branch has torn it down.
- You're building and need a new overhead connection.
- The cable insulation is perished or the wire is corroded near the terminations.
- An Ausgrid defect notice has flagged the service line as non-compliant.

We check the cable condition, terminations, clearances and tree proximity.

Fixed price for re-sag, partial renewal or full replacement.

EWP on the pole or bracket, new cable run, POA re-terminated, defect cleared.
Energise & certify
Ausgrid energisation, CCEW issued.

A tree is on my line right now - what do I do?
Stay well clear, don't touch the cable, and call us and Ausgrid immediately. We respond 24/7 across the Coast and can make the line safe and replace it the next morning in most cases.
Can you just re-sag rather than replace?
Often, yes - if the cable itself is sound but has stretched or been bumped we can re-tension it. We'll only recommend replacement if the cable or terminations are degraded.
Do I need to clear the tree first?
Usually we coordinate with a local arborist or do minor clearance ourselves within Ausgrid's vegetation rules. We'll sort it as part of the job.
