About this service

NSW law requires RCDs (safety switches) on all final subcircuits in modern installations. Many older Central Coast homes have none, or only one covering the kitchen and bathroom. Upgrading is quick, inexpensive and dramatically reduces the risk of electrocution and fire.

When you need it

  • A home with no safety switches at all
  • A pre-purchase inspection flagging partial RCD coverage
  • A rental property needing compliance for the lease
  • A circuit that trips inconsistently - possibly a failing RCD

What's included

  • RCDs or RCBOs on every final subcircuit
  • Testing to confirm correct operation
  • Labelling of the switchboard
  • Inspection report / CCEW
Common questions

Frequently asked

What's the difference between an RCD and an RCBO?
An RCD protects against earth leakage only; an RCBO is a combined RCD + circuit breaker and protects each circuit individually. RCBOs are the modern preference.
